White spirit

White spirit is a petroleum extract used as a mild solvent. Mineral turpentine, turpentine substitute, petroleum spirits, solvent naphtha (petroleum), Varsol, and Solvent 402 are all names for it. White spirit is a distillation range of 200-142 °C mixture of paraffin and aromatic hydrocarbons. Solvents of this type are liquid, transparent, coloured water with a mild odour, chemically stable, and do not cause corrosion.

Paint thinner is made from white spirit. Mineral spirits are used in industry to clean and degrease machine tools and parts, as well as as a thread cutting and reaming lubricant in conjunction with cutting oil.

Mineral spirits are a low-cost petroleum-based substitute for vegetable-based turpentine. It is commonly used as a paint thinner for oil-based paint and brush cleaning, as well as an organic solvent in other applications. After printing with oil-based textile and plastisol inks, mineral spirits are frequently used to clean and unclog screens. They are also used to thin the inks used in mono-printing. White Spirit is also packaged in bulk, drums (170 Kg and 200 Kg drums) and small flexi tanks (with a maximum capacity of 15 tonnes).
